Text written in cursive reads : example: Paris taxi 10 am? January 2026 My driver spoke great English. His son did better with SPanish, but his brain liked english. He asked how I was “ with the Public executions in America.” the Paris light held the edge of his face. I sam him look in the rearview. He caught me crying , quietly and it seemed like he could feel the ache in my throat. He caught my eye and nodded and gave me a tissue and a bottled water from his front seat. He helped me with my luggage and I hugged him and said thank you. He held my eye again and replied “de rien.”
