Text written in cursive reads : to love example : a Wisconsin summer night circa 1992 Scott waited for hours in the humidity under the sodium lights. Bugs humming. The Senator finally piled into the car and kept asking Scott to drive faster. Scott apologized, “Sorry Sir, legally I cannot go faster.” the Senator replied “Do you know who I am?” Scott said, “Yes and I am a farm kid who won’t inherit my dad’s failing farm and I’m trying…” and Scott continued thru the night driving to the other side of the state - past small towns, a reservation, churches, state parks, bars, gas stations and farms - many farms. But not Scott’s dad’s farm. And Scott kept talking so much and so constantly that the senator fell asleep because Scott made no room for the senator to speak. Scott drove the speed limit and avoided the deer stunned by the bright light of his presence.
(This is a true story as told to me by my classmate Scott and remembered by me 30+ years later)
